California Missions and Monastery Tour: El Camino Real to the Buddha

This is an “Outside The Walls” trip, a 5-day, 4-night van trip down Highway 101 that will include visits to four historical missions and a Buddhist monastery near San Diego. Traveling to and from the monastery we will spend one night each way camping on the beach near Santa Barbara at El Capitan State Park (4/2/12) and Carpinteria State Beach (4/5/12). We will spend two nights camped on San Clemente State Beach near San Diego (4/3/12 and 4/4/12). The missions we will visit are: La Purisima Conception in Lompoc, Santa Ines in Solvang, Santa Barbara Mission, and San Juan Capistrano Mission. We will visit Metta Forest Monastery near San Diego. |
